Abu Dhabi, UAE – October 28th, 2025 – Premier Invest, a leading Abu Dhabi–based financial group committed to connecting global capital with Africa’s growth, proudly participated as a sponsor at the Best ofAfrica (BoA) Awards 2025, held in London on 26 October.
The BoA Awards celebrate the philanthropic achievements of leaders of Pan-African heritage across sports, entertainment, and business. This year’s theme, “Innovation,”highlighted the transformative role of visionary leadership in shaping Africa’s future.
Premier Invest’s objectives in attending and sponsoring the event were twofold:
· To support and promote the impactful work of these leaders who are advancing Africa’s development through creativity, leadership, and purpose; and
· To engage them around the planned launch of The Africa Sports Infrastructure Fund, an initiative designed to finance the development of sports facilities and the broader ecosystem — including talent development, capacity building, and the business and media dimensions of sports.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary five-timeGrammy winner Angélique Kidjo by René Awambeng, Founder and Managing Partner of Premier Invest. In a moving tribute, Awambeng celebrated Kidjo’s legacy as a global ambassador for African excellence, commending her decades-long dedication to art, education, and social impact.
“Angélique Kidjo’s voice has carriedAfrica to the world—not only through her music, but through her relentless advocacy for young women, equality, and education. She embodies the spirit of the Best of Africa Awards: the power to inspire, to unite, and to uplift,” saidRené Awambeng.
“At Premier Invest, we believe Africa’s progress is multidimensional. It is financial, creative, and human. Supporting platforms like Best of Africa reflects our belief in investing in every expression of excellence across our continent.”
The five-time Grammy Award winner, who also serves as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and founder of the Batonga Foundation, accepted the award with characteristic grace and gratitude. Her recognition capped an evening that showcased extraordinary stories of leadership and resilience—an ethos Premier Invest shares through its work across trade, finance, and sustainable development.
Premier Invest’s partnership with the Best of Africa Awards underscores its broader mission to champion Africa’s growth beyond financial services — by recognising and empowering those advancing the continent’s cultural, social, and economic potential. Whether in investment, enterprise, or the arts, Premier Invest is committed to supporting all those shaping Africa’s future.
“Our role as investors extends far beyond balance sheets,” added Awambeng. “True investment means empowering people—the innovators, artists, and leaders who represent the very best ofAfrica.”
