Leny Ilondo

Leny Illondo is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of leadership and board-level experience spanning banking, insurance, and infrastructure across Africa.
His career reflects a consistent track record of driving strategic growth, managing complex projects, and shaping corporate governance in high-impact sectors. As the former Managing Director of PPC Barnet DRC, Leny spearheaded the successful development of a landmark US $284 million cement plant, a transformative infrastructure project financed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Trade and Development Bank (TDB).
His leadership was instrumental in navigating the project's financial structuring, stakeholder engagement, and operational execution. Leny currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Rawbank SA (DRC) and Rhino Transport Services (Kenya), where he contributes to strategic oversight, risk management, and regional expansion initiatives. His governance experience is further reflected in his previous roles, including:
- Vice President, Fédération des Entreprises du Congo
- Member, DR Congo Social and Economic Council
- CEO and Executive Director, National Insurance Company (SONAS)
- Non-Executive Director, SONAS.
He has also held key board positions at leading institutions such as Africa-Re and Ecobank RDC, where he chaired the Audit Committee, reinforcing his expertise in governance, financial stewardship and regulatory compliance.
